Hitherto I stand, matured!
Earth born,
Body bore
In flesh and blood shapen,
A man amongst Men;
Carrying within me,
The world’s qualms
and no conviction…
For all that along the way I’ve dropped
Facing life in awe
between the time to come
and the time already gone

May I eternally lay
As long as I live
Dreaming every waking hour,
for at night I meditate.
Present time, ever imperfect,
In worn out phrases,
Accounting for what I’ve lost…
Such sorrow, such expectations.
Crude to the thrill
Of a life I did not bid for,
A life yet unfinished
Dwelling in a present full of promises.
